1. Science Investigation Worksheet
1a. Science Investigation Instructions

A worksheet that has proven useful with the new Science SATs format. The children really need to get familiar with investigations and the language associated with it. Used regularly with any science investigation, this will prepare the children well. The accompanying instruction sheet gives advice how to use the worksheet.

2. Fingerprint Investigations

Working with a partner, the children take a print of each finger on their right hand and note differences and similarities between the two individual sets.

3. Investigating Springs Worksheet

A worksheet to allow children to record their findings. Give them a box full of objects that use springs. Children to identify the object, the purpose of the spring, the type of force exerted by the spring (push or pull) and draw a diagram with a force arrow. 2. Mini-Beast Making Exercise

The children are given insect shapes which they can move around the page and combine to make a complete insect. They can then colour the shapes and add labels for the head, body, legs, wings and antenna.

3. Nature Observation Worksheet

The younger children are encouraged to take a nature walk around their school and make notes or drawings of the plants and animals they observe.

4. Structure of a Tooth Worksheet

A worksheet to allow children to label the various parts of a tooth, and complete some statements about teeth by filling in the appropriate words.

5. Facts About Teeth Worksheet

A worksheet where the children decide if various statements about teeth are true or false. The statements can be cut out and sorted, if desired.

6. A Food Chain Mobile

Diagrams that show the path of various food chains, for example a carrot, which may be eaten by a rabbit, which may be eaten by a fox.

The first item contains a story entitled 'The frog who was scared of water' plus some factual information about frogs. Then, the children would use the Worksheet which asks them various questions, and to spot the difference between the facts and the fiction.

8. Otters - Fact and Fiction

A story entitled 'The otter who wanted to know' plus some factual information about frogs. Afterwards, the children could be asked various questions, and to spot the difference between the facts and the fiction.

The first item contains a story entitled 'The owl who was afraid of the dark' plus some factual information about frogs. Then, the children would use either of the two worksheets which asks them various questions, and to spot the difference between the facts and the fiction.

11. Comparing Environments Worksheet

A worksheet that allows the children to record what they find in two contrasting environments, and make comparistons between the two.

1. Soundproofing Experiment Results Sheet

A template for noting the results of soundproofing experiments, including sections on planning, what investigations are being carried out, the results, conclusion, etc.
