An excellent site for children. All the information is given under headings provided as a series of questions eg 'A Healthy Nation'. There is a time line under each topic giving the key events. There are links to primary sources that the children are asked questions about. Sheets can be printed off and there are also activities for the children to do. Blists Hill Victorian Town

The Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge Gorge is a great place for a school to visit. It has many excellent features of a Victorian town: a school, where children can dress up and be part of a real Victorian school for a day. There is a bank, printers, public house, chemist, sweet shop etc. There are lots of demonstrations and activities happening to interest the children. Eden Camp Museum

A superb site to transport you back in time to wartime Britain. The museum is sited on an original prisoner of war camp in Yorkshire. Each of the huts is designated a theme eg. Home Guard, women during the war, etc. The web site gives you comprehensive information about what there is in each hut and also full commentary on the topics covered. [www.edencamp.co.uk]
